ALL ON 6
By placing six implants in the jaw, a stable foundation is created for a fixed prosthetic restoration that restores chewing function, aesthetics, and everyday comfort.
The All-on-6 method provides a more even distribution of chewing forces and is often preferred for patients with higher functional requirements or a need for additional stability.
What is the All-on-6 method?
All-on-6 is an implant treatment method in which an entire jaw is restored using six strategically positioned dental implants. They serve as support for a fixed restoration that is not removed by the patient and closely resembles natural teeth in both function and appearance.
The method allows full-arch restoration with fewer implants compared to traditional approaches, while still offering high stability and long-term predictability of the results.
When is All-on-6 used?
All-on-6 may be a suitable solution in cases of:
complete or partial tooth loss in the upper and/or lower jaw;
severely compromised teeth with an unfavorable prognosis;
patients who do not feel comfortable with removable dentures;
the need for greater stability and more even distribution of chewing forces.
The decision to use All-on-6 is made individually, after an assessment of the patient’s condition and available treatment options.
How does All-on-6 treatment work?
All-on-6 treatment follows clearly defined stages that provide predictability and control throughout the entire process. Each stage is tailored to the patient’s specific condition and the previously prepared treatment plan.
Planning and Preparation
At the initial stage, an individual treatment plan is prepared, defining the position of the implants and the type of future restoration.
Surgical Placement
The six implants are positioned to provide optimal stability and even distribution of chewing forces. In certain cases, some of the implants may be placed at an angle, depending on the patient’s anatomical features.
Temporary Restoration
In suitable cases, a temporary fixed restoration can be placed on the day of the procedure. It provides comfort, restores function and aesthetics, and gives the patient a realistic impression of the future final result.
Healing Period
After implant placement, a healing period of approximately 3 to 6 months is required for full integration of the implants with the bone.
Placement of the Final Restoration
After successful integration, the temporary restoration is replaced with a final one, created according to the patient’s individual functional and aesthetic requirements, with precise dental laboratory control.
Advantages of All-on-6
The All-on-6 method offers a number of clinical and functional advantages:
high stability of the restoration;
more even distribution of chewing forces;
possibility to restore an entire jaw with a fixed solution;
long-term reliability with proper maintenance;
improved comfort and quality of life.
All-on-6 or All-on-4 – what is the difference?
The main difference between the two methods is the number of implants used. All-on-6 uses six implants, which provides greater stability and a more even distribution of chewing forces. This may be an advantage for patients with higher functional requirements or when additional support for the restoration is needed.
The choice between All-on-4 and All-on-6 depends on the individual clinical case and is determined after consultation with a specialist.
Recovery and Maintenance
Recovery after All-on-6 treatment takes place gradually. In the first few days, mild discomfort may occur, which usually subsides during the healing period. Patients receive clear instructions for nutrition, oral hygiene, and follow-up visits.
Maintenance of the implants includes daily oral hygiene, similar to natural teeth, as well as regular preventive check-ups to preserve the results in the long term.
